Second national block of digital radio stations goes to Channel 4-led consortium
Ofcom has awarded the second national multiplex of commercial digital radio stations to 4 Digital Group, a consortium of radio broadcasters headed by Channel 4. The group plans to launch ten new stations next year.
Channel 4's director of radio, Natalie Schwartz, said:
'We genuinely believe Channel 4 can add a fresh perspective to radio in the UK while extending choice for listeners and working with our partners to promote the medium and drive consumer take-up.'
